Just like every vehicle on the roads today, the new Volkswagen Atlas hits showrooms with a variety of options from which people can choose to customize their perfect sport utility vehicle. This entry into VW SUV lineup is sure to thrill drivers all across the Doylestown, Philadelphia, and New Britain.

Not only is the Atlas a thrill to drive, it offers a ton of options to get it setup the way you want. In short, it's a Volkswagen through and through. Discover a complete review and breakdown of the various Volkswagen Atlas trim levels, including the performance, safety and tech packages at each level.

VW Atlas Trim Levels

The Atlas is a brand-new midsize crossover in the VW lineup, which neatly fills the gap between the Tiguan and Touareg in terms of features, though it's actually larger in size than the Touareg. There are a full 5 VW Atlas trim levels from which to choose: the base S level, the SE, the SE with Technology, the SEL and the range-topper SEL Premium.

At the bottom four trims, the base engine is a four-cylinder which delivers 235 horsepower with 250 lb.-ft. of torque, or you can upgrade to an optional V6 which gives you 276 horses with 258 pound-feet. At the top two trims you get the V6 standard. It's also standard front-wheel drive, though the V6 models can be had as AWD, which is standard on the Premium. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic.

Base S Trim

The base S trim gives an impressive range of features including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as LED headlights, power mirrors, cruise control and rearview camera. You get an infotainment system which gives you a 6.5-inch touchscreen interface and Bluetooth.

SE and SE with Technology Trims

At the SE level, you get the basics from above, plus push-button start and automatic headlights, heated front seats, power driver seat, sunshades in the rear, blind-spot monitoring, and an upgraded 8-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.

The SE with Technology package gives you all this and adds remote start, tri-zone automatic climate control, adaptive cruise control, power liftgate, lane keeping features, and automatic emergency braking for front crash avoidance and mitigation.

SEL and SEL Premium

The two range-toppers build even further on these features. The SEL level gives you power front passenger seat and a panoramic sunroof. You also get parking distance control, and a couple appearance package options.

At the Premium, you get the VW Digital Cockpit as a replacement for the normal gauge cluster, complete with a configurable video screen to give you the exact information you want for your car. You also get LED taillights, upgraded touchscreen, GPS navigation, and parking assist. Finally, you get full leather upholstery and the option for larger wheels.
