Introducing the New Volkswagen Tiguan SUV

The Volkswagen Tiguan compact SUV has been fully redesigned for new, ushering in its third generation. The popular VW utility vehicle builds on its successful formula with a new platform, updated powertrain, modernized interior, and sleek restyled exterior. While the footprint is similar, the Volkswagen Tiguan features a lower roofline for improved aerodynamics and a wider stance for athletic handling.

What's New for the New VW Tiguan?

Riding on an updated version of the MQB architecture, the new VW Tiguan benefits from the latest chassis technologies for a smooth ride and refined driving dynamics. Under the hood, motivation comes from a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, featuring an increase of 11 ponies over the previous generation.

The cabin has been fully overhauled with premium materials, an ergonomic layout, and VW's latest tech. The streamlined dashboard features either a standard 12.9-inch digital instrument cluster or an available 15.0-inch version on upper trims. Nestled in the center stack is an equally impressive center touchscreen measuring up to 12.9 inches diagonally. Other interior highlights include an available Harman Kardon premium audio system, a panoramic sunroof, and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto that's perfect for you Dublin, Perkasie, or beyond drive.

A Stylish New Look for this VW SUV

Designers gave the VW Tiguan a bolder and more sophisticated appearance inspired by the larger VW Atlas. The front fascia features a wide grille flanked by sleek LED headlamps, while strong character lines run down the sculpted bodysides. Three new exterior colors join the palette: Avocado Green Pearl, Ascot Grey, and Monterey Blue Pearl. Wheel sizes range from 17 inches on the base model up to 22 inches on the range-topping trim.

Inside, the new VW Tiguan provides a spacious and versatile cabin with generous headroom and legroom for five passengers. The rear bench seat slides and reclines. With all seats in use, there are 38 cubic feet of cargo space in the back. Folding the second row expands capacity to 74 cubes. Note that Volkswagen has discontinued the third-row seat in the VW Tiguan for new Tiguan, positioning it strictly as a two-row, five-passenger SUV.

More Technology and Safety Than Ever

On the infotainment front, all new VW Tiguan models receive the MIB3 system with wireless connectivity for smartphones, multi-phone pairing capability, enhanced voice recognition, and available navigation. An optional 12-speaker, 550-watt Harman-Kardon audio system provides immersive sound. The Volkswagen Digital Cockpit with a 12.9-inch display comes standard, while a larger 15.0-inch unit is available.

For enhanced safety, the VW Tiguan adds two additional airbags for a total of 10. The front center console airbag prevents front passenger contact during a crash, while an airbag is added for the rear center position. Every Volkswagen Tiguan is equipped with front assist, blind spot monitoring, and rear traffic alert. Optional driver assists include adaptive cruise control, travel assist with lane centering, park assist, and a 360-degree surround view camera.
